Back To Church Sunday!

Back To Church Sunday!

It’s More Than a Routine!

Summer is over and school is back in session!  (Not sure the weatherman agrees!)  If your summer was anything like mine, you’re asking the question, “How did it fly by so fast and how did a summer ‘vacation’ get so busy?”  Still, with the start of school, it’s back to many of the routines that school brings.  One that my family is still adapting to is going to bed earlier.  The girls are having a hard time catching onto that one especially since it is still bright outside when they need to be in bed.  It’s a good thing they still are still excited about being in a new grade or we would never get them out of bed!

There is another habit that is easy to get out of during the summer months besides the habit of “early to bed, early to rise.”  That is the habit of making sure your family is in church every Sunday.  Travel plans and summer projects interrupt our commitment to church and make it easier to skip church even when those things are not going on.  We all know it’s not an excuse, but we all know it happens.

So as school brings the need to reestablish many of your family routines, don’t’ forget to reestablish, the routine of making sure your family is in church every Sunday to worship God to and to learn from His Word.  And if church attendance has never been a family routine, this is a great time to establish the routine of church.  Or better yet, since God is more concerned about you cultivating a relationship with Him instead a routine, cultivate in your heart and family an atmosphere where attending church and to worship Christ and to study the Bible is an expression of your love for Jesus and you wouldn’t miss it for the world!

To help our community cultivate exactly that, we are emphasizing a day to start: Back to Church Sunday on September 12th!  Sunday School at 9:45 am; Worship at 11:00 am: Dinner on the Grounds at Noon!  See you there as we all make church more than a routine!

“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”  Hebrews 10:24-25
